Shauna Wilcox
BScN RN MN CHPCN(C), (She/Her) – Co-Founder/Director
Shauna Wilcox is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at IWK Health, specializing in pediatric palliative care. With over 20 years of pediatric nursing experience and more than a decade focused specifically on palliative care, Shauna is deeply committed to providing compassionate, family-centered care for children living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Her clinical background also includes experience in adult palliative and hospice care, enriching her holistic and collaborative approach.
Originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Shauna holds both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University and a Master of Nursing from Dalhousie University. She has earned her Canadian Nurses Association certification in Hospice Palliative Care and is actively involved in provincial and national initiatives aimed at improving access, equity, and quality in pediatric palliative care. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to advocacy, education, and system-level improvement. She is a co-founder for the Maritime Children’s Hospice Society and involved in the development of a Children’s Hospice to enhance access to pediatric palliative care services for Maritime children, families and care providers that support them.
